The Chicago Bears enter Monday night with a 5-2 record, but the real test starts now. Caleb Williams faces a Seahawks defense that looks to slow down his legs and arm. The Bears have beaten teams like the Panthers, Eagles, Jets, Falcons, and Patriots to get here. They also lost to the Vikings and the Packers. Now they must prove they can win against a top-tier opponent, per Fox News.

Seattle has a major advantage this week. For the first time this season, their top two running backs are healthy. Zach Charbonnet is expected to make his season debut after an ACL injury. Rookie Jadarian Price is also activated for the game. The team even released Robert Henry Jr. to make room for Price on the active roster.

Seahawks Roster Moves Shake Things Up

Head coach Mike Macdonald has a clear strategy for his running backs. He knows how to use both players without giving away the full plan. Macdonald admitted the squad has a strategy for both running backs but did not disclose whether Price will face Chicago. “We have a plan for Zach and with JD,” Macdonald noted, per Heavy.com.

The coach praised the versatility of his backs before the game. He said they can handle different types of runs and situations. Macdonald added, “He can run all the different types of runs and all the different types of situations, and his pass protection has been excellent since he’s been here.” This skill set forces the Bears to stay on their toes. If the Seahawks can run, they can control the clock and keep Williams off the field.

Bears Must Adjust to Seattle’s Strength

Chicago cannot rely on their past wins to carry them forward. Fox News states that the Bears confront one of the top defenses in football. To provide the Seahawks with varied options, Williams must utilize both his arms and legs. If he stays in the pocket too long, the pressure will mount. The Seahawks have players who can rush the passer and stop the run.

Seattle does have some injury concerns, but their offense still looks strong. Left tackle Charles Cross has been ruled out against the Bears. Versatile playmaker Rashid Shaheed has also been ruled out. Even with these losses, the Seahawks have enough talent to challenge a 5-2 team. The Bears must find a way to stop the run first. Williams needs to make plays early to set the tone.

Next up is a Sunday night game against Tampa Bay at Soldier Field.
